DDRParadise | Modes Of Play Modes Of Play

There are a couple modes of play. There is single, versus, double, nonstop, endless, challenge and extra. Single and versus are pretty much the same thing. When you are playing one of those, one or two people play a song, and you get rankings for them. With versus, the person who gets the highest, is the winner. For single, you just play a song by yourself. For double mode, you can either play with two people, or you can do it by yourself. If you do it with one person, you will use two pads and play DDR using both of them. It is very complicated. If you did it with two people, it is a lot easier. You don't have to move around on both pads, you use one each. For nonstop mode, you play four songs in a row without stopping. It is pretty difficult, unless you have a lot of endurance. For extra mode, you have to get a AA or AAA on a song on heavy or oni mode. For the extra stage, you play on reverse mode. That is where the arrows come from the top of the screen and go to the bottom of the screen. It is very confusing. When you are playing extra mode, if you get a missed note, then if you get a ton of combos, the life on the health meter (the thing in green or flashing yellow and orange on top of the top of your screen for regular mode and the bottom for reverse. The health meter is blue in reverse mode) does not come back, so watch out for those. In endless mode, you select a song playlist, modifiers, and difficulty (or a random difficulty for each song), and keep playing random songs until you are too tired to play. You need a ton of endurance if you want to be able to do endless mode for a long time. For challenge mode, you choose a course of 4 - 7 songs. Each song in each course is again designated a difficulty, but that difficulty is usually heavy and can't be changed. Players then must play through the course with only 4 lives. Judgings of Good or worse will result in the loss of a life, as will an N.G. judging for not holding a freeze step. Players will normally be given one life at the end of a song if their life bar isn't full (it can never go above the maximum of 4).

Here is an example of playing single mode.

Single mode isn't that difficult. It is just a matter of getting a lot of combos to get a good song ranking. It is not that hard.

Here is an example of versus mode.

It is the exact same thing as single mode. You just play with someone else instead of by yourself.

Here is an example of double mode.

This screenshot itself does not make double mode look that hard. It is a lot harder than it looks. When you are playing a really hard song like Max 300 on heavy, there are a lot of 16th notes and you have to go from one side to the other. It is very hard, but you will master it sooner or later.

Here is an example of nonstop mode.

If you want to finish nonstop mode, you need a lot of endurance to play, especially for standard and heavy mode. It is very difficult. When you are done playing nonstop, you should get a huge bottle of cold water and drink it.
