Graphics
I would give DDR Mario Mix a 7/10 for graphics. I really like how
they made an effort to make the animated backgrounds and all, but I
think that the characters look really weird when they dance. They are
pretty much just shaking their butts around, and it's really annoying.
Otherwise, I like the backgrounds for each song. They are very
creative. The graphics look a lot better than most of the other
versions of DDR. They are very clear, and not blurry, like the first
version of DDR. Overall, I really like the graphics, but the dancing,
has to change, or go all together.
Sound
I would give the sound a 10/10. Since this game is very new, it has
really good sound. It's not all fuzzy, like some of the earlier DDR
mixes. The songs are very easy to hear, and there is no fuzzy sounds to
throw you off, making you get lower grades on songs.
Value
I think that the value of this game should be half of the normal
price ($25) because they made it too much for beginners. The game is
fun and all, but for those experts out there, it is really easy and
beatable in a snap. Then again, it's always fun to have your friends
over that really suck at DDR and torture them with this game.
Overall
Overall, I would give this game a 5/10. The game is good at first,
but then as the game progresses, it gets really boring. The songs are
very easy for those that are very experienced, like me. Even on super
hard mode (the hardest mode in the game), the songs are no more than
maybe a 9 step song. The only maybe hard song on that game is the
Bowser's Castle on super hard mode. I would maybe consider that a 9
step song. Also, one other thing that I don't like about the game is
that there are no modifiers, like speed modifiers. Like in the regular
Dance Dance Revolution games, there are all sorts of modifiers, to make
the songs harder, like for example, reverse mode, which makes the
arrows go from up to down instead of down to up. I don't like that
there are no modifiers because I like to use the speed modifier to make
the arrows come up faster, because it is really hard to see the arrows
coming up so bunched together. That is another downfall in the game.
They should never especially take off the speed modifier because a lot
of people use them, like me for instance. Other than all of those
downfalls I just listed, the game is allright I guess.
I really don't recommend this game for people unless you are a total
Mario freak, or you are a complete beginner at DDR. I have been playing
for a long time, and all of the songs are far too easy for me. I would
like the game more if they had harder songs. This game would be sort of
fun to play with friends, and that's about it. I bet even a toddler can
master this game fairly quickly. That's how easy this game is. Overall,
I really don't recommend buying this game.
